Children’s Ministries

We are intentional about teaching and nurturing faith in the children at Dayspring. This is done through worship, childcare, our Manna children’s program, summer camps, and other opportunities for playfulness and joy. At Dayspring, children are blessed to have many adults who know their names and encourage their faith.

Sunday Mornings: Childcare for Babies through Preschool

We take seriously our responsibility for creating a safe and welcoming environment for our babies and toddlers. To that end, we provide a bright and clean children’s wing that is staffed with committed professionals who care for our children from birth through preschool. They are committed to teaching the littlest ones among us that church is a place where they are loved and welcomed. All first-time visitors will be asked to fill out a questionnaire telling us about your child and providing contact information. Parents will then sign their children in, and use the same registration sheet to sign their children out after childcare hours end.

Sunday Evenings: Manna

Manna is a ministry for 2nd through 5th grade students that feeds a child’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs through scripture, community, mission, and fun. Like all of our programming for children and teenagers, Manna takes place two Sundays a month from 5:30-7pm, with an optional dinner beginning at 5 pm. Students participate in a variety of activities that “feed” the whole child, including:

  • Dinner – building relationships while sharing a meal. Students learn about giving thanks through prayer and
have an opportunity to share the prayers that they say at home.

  • Lesson Time – learning lessons and stories from the bible. This is made up of many activities including: craft
time, story telling/drama, science experiments, music, games, etc.

  • Game Time – building community through play and fun.

  • Bible Skills – becoming familiar with the bible and scripture. This includes memorizing the books of the bible,
learning what the bible is, and scripture memory of some of the most commonly used scripture.

  • Time with God – allowing students quiet time to explore individual prayer. Each student will have a prayer
journal to write or drawer anything they learned, are thinking about, or would like to pray about. They will also
have the option to talk to an adult about their thoughts instead of writing if they choose.

  • Service – living out the gospel. The group will spend one week on service each semester.

Sunday Evenings: Young Children

Young Children is a ministry for children ages 3 years thru through 1st grade. Through bible stories, fun activities, and play time, young children learn that they can know and trust Jesus and his love. Like Manna and Youth, it takes place two Sundays a month. Dinner begins at 5 p.m., and programming runs from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
